Hey, I know I just posted, but Bill B. just finished his press conference and the Pats have released this statement:
“After extensive tests this morning, it was revealed that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s left knee, which was injured in the first quarter of yesterday’s game, will require surgery. He will be placed on injured reserve and will miss the remainder of the 2008 season.”
This will be all we ever know about the knee-injury. The Patriots are like the British aristocracy, when something goes wrong, they close ranks and you will never crack them. The Patriots are the same way. Tommy will have surgery, sure, but there won’t be a single update on him that is the least bit informative until he is starting again.
In the meantime, we must root for Matt C. and a very talented Patriots team and coaching staff. The season is far from over, and the Pats will be there in the end. Maybe not all the way to the end, but at least the post-season.
